Amy Green Brandenburg is a South Georgia native, having gone to high school in Adel and to college at Georgia Southern University. She started her legal career in Tifton, working as a summer legal assistant to Judge Render M. Heard during college.
After obtaining her J.D. at New England School of Law, Amy spent years practicing family law at a downtown Boston law firm, where she worked with some of Massachusetts' most highly esteemed and experienced attorneys. There she represented and advised clients in complex family law and child welfare matters. During that time, she co-edited Chapter 2 of the Massachusetts Divorce Law Practice Manual, authored Tax Consequences Related to the Transfer of Stock Options in a Divorce in the Massachusetts Bar Association Journal, and on multiple occasions received the First Justices' Award for Pro Bono Publico Excellence for her pro bono work, which included representing numerous children and parents.
After returning to Georgia, Amy founded The Law Office of Amy L. Green, LLC in 2018, devoting her practice exclusively to child welfare law. She holds the Child Welfare Law Specialist (CWLS) certification from the National Association of Counsel for Children and serves as a Guardian ad Litem in Superior Court matters, as appointed counsel and GAL in juvenile court proceedings, and has represented foster parents in child welfare matters across the state.
Amy also serves as a part-time Magistrate Judge in Tift County.
