Amy L. Green Profile

Amy is a South Georgia native, having gone to high school in Adel and to college at Georgia Southern University.  She started her legal career in Tifton, working as a summer legal assistant to Judge Render M. Heard during college.  After obtaining her J.D. at New England School of Law,  Amy spent years practicing law at a downtown Boston law firm, where she worked with some of Massachusetts' most highly esteemed and experienced attorneys.  There she represented and advised high net-worth private clients, including politicians, professional athletes, and executives, in complex, often highly-publicized cases.  During that time, she co-edited Chapter 2 of the Massachusetts Divorce Law Practice Manual, authored Tax Consequences Related to the Transfer of Stock Options in a Divorce in the Massachusetts Bar Association Journal, and on multiple occasions received the First Justices’ Award for Pro Bono Publico Excellence for her pro bono work. After practicing law in Boston, Amy spent several years in NYC working for a global data management firm and a private equity firm with $1B AUM.  In both of these roles, she was responsible for certain day-to-day operations of the firms, including contract negotiation, managing employees, and overseeing, reviewing, and approving firm operating expenses. Amy is passionate about volunteerism and was a regular volunteer for Lawyer for the Day, a free, need-based attorney program in Massachusetts, represented numerous children and parents pro bono, served as an American Bar Association Negotiation Competition Judge, and as a Boston Debate League Judge.  She has chaired and presented continuing legal education programs through the Boston Bar Association and served on various committees within the Greater Boston Family Law American Inn of Court, the Boston Bar Association, and the Junior League of Boston, a service organization focused on serving women and children.   While in Boston, Amy attended Trinity Episcopal Church and was on the greeting committee; in NYC, she attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church and worked in the soup kitchen, distributing meals to Manhattan’s homeless community.  Amy is currently a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Tifton, where she serves in the food box ministry and teaches middle school Sunday school.  She volunteers with the YMCA, Family Promise, and Special Olympics, and is a member of The Tifton Judicial Circuit Bar Association and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. Outside the office, Amy is an avid traveler, having explored North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
